Sharp Objects / Gillian Flynn / 254 pages / Missour Challenge

Camille Preaker, a Chicago newspaper reporter, is sent back to her Missouri hometown, Windsnap, to cover the murders of two preteen girls who were strangled and had their teeth removed. This is a harrowing tale of man's inhumanity to man, cutters, physical and psychological abuse, and teenage cattiness. Did Camille's mother kill the girls? A surprising plot twist keeps the reader engaged and appalled until the very last page.
