This is the "sequel" to Hannah's Firefly Lane, c2008.  At the end of Firefly Lane, Kate had passed away, leaving Kate's family, and her best friend, Tully, to pick up the pieces.  Almost four years have passed since Kate's death, and Tully is involved in a terrible car accident--so begins Fly Away. Johnny, Kate's husband, and Tully had had a falling out after Kate's death, and hadn't seen each other in years. Johnny is the person notified about Tully's accident. The remainder of the book is seen through various characters' eyes, bringing a greater understanding to what made the fabric of their lives fall apart after Kate's death, and how to rectify the situation. In some ways the book has a melancholy tone to it, but at the same time, there is an "uplifting" quality to it. It was a good sequel.
