Whatever Happened to Janie? / Caroline B. Cooney / 199 pages

Against all odds, a young girl two states away had picked up a milk carton she normally would not touch, saw a picture that nobody could recognize, and she recognized it...herself as a three year old.  Janie Johnson could not believe that was her picture on the milk carton.  She herself set into motion events that would forever change her life.  Her birth parents and her siblings want her back.  So after twelve years, she leaves her Mom & Dad - Johnson's - not their real name, and goes to live with her birth family, from whom she had been kidnapped, as Jennie Spring.  Did she give her new/old family enough time?  Will she stay with them and somehow resume her old identity?  I found The Face on the Milk Carton, the first book in the series, to be more suspenseful than this one is, but this provided thought-provoking relationship-related dilemmas.
