Butterfingers / J. M. Trewellard / 202 pages / Fairy Tale

"Princess Bella has been snatched from her secret garden by a terrifying, fire-breathing monster, leaving behind nothing but her glistening golden ball.  It's up to Ned, the clumsy stable boy and his animal friends to rescue her after all the kingdom's gallant knight fail."  "Ned is a good, kind boy, and good, kind boys get their rewards, eventually."  So says Dolly, Ned's trusty steed.  Despite his ineptitude and constant disparaging comments from others, Ned determines to rescue the princess.  Almost every page is illustrated with black or gray shadow prints appropriate to and complimentary with the worlds on the page.  Ned's courage and friendliness are indeed legendary.
