His brother, Christian, left home years ago to escape the intense abuse meted out by his father. He had often stepped in to deflect the violence directed at his mom. Now Jace, too, has runaway for the same reasons. He, however, had fought back, and unfortunately has pbysically lashed out at his girlfriend, Lauren. Driving from Chicago to Albuquerque, he reconnects with Christian and begins to fight his demons.
