This Southern Gothic novel fashioned from a fabric of murder, guilt, innocence, corruption, and survival is told in the voices of the living and the dead. Seven year old Calley Dakin's daddy is tortured and murdered by two employees of the New Orleans hotel where the Dakin family is staying for a Ford Motor Company convention. Notes are left signed by the murderers but the authorities totally discount them. Why was Daddy murdered? Exactly who...and what...is Daddy's girl, Calley Dakin? This is a great audio book. The reader's southern drawl puts you in the middle of the story.
