This is the first in a new series - A Pet Rescue Mystery. It was a very predictable story but I did enjoy it. Lauren Vancouver is the administrator of a no kill animal shelter - HotRescues. She helps to rescue beagle puppies from a puppy mill - they were being thrown down a storm drain and finds out that one of her volunteers is working at the puppy mill. They have some angry words and of course he ends up dead at the shelter and Lauren is there. She is the prime suspect in the murder and ends up solving it to clear her name. I had figured out who it was but still enjoyed the story line.
