Farewell,Titanic: Her Final Legacy / Charles Pellegrino / 281 pages

I have always been interested in the story of the Titanic.  This is the author's account of his 2001 dive to document the Titanic.  Along with this journey the author tells the first hand accounts of several survivors in their own words.  This was the most fascinating part of the book for me.  The author does a good job telling the story of the Titanic's voyage and disaster as well as what it is today.  I just would have liked to have more pictures included.

Cold April is a historical fiction novel by Phyllis A. Humphrey.  In this quick and easy read the reader meets English governess Elizabeth Shallcross, just returned from three years in New York.  She finds herself with a new position as governess for Kathleen, daughter of widow Richard Graham.  She is to accompany Richard and Kathleen as they return to New York.  It's 1912, April and they sailing on the maiden voyage of a large ship.  It should be no surprise to the reader what is about to happen.  This is not a novel of survival, or technical details, it's just a historic romance and a fun summer read.

They explain what happens to the Titanic but are unable to convince the Kearny's not to board. And how are they to get back to their time?

The premise of this book is what interested me - it is the story of a man, Wells, who goes back in time to try to stop the sinking of the Titanic. Instead what he does changes the entire future of the world. In this new future, the grand-nephew of JFK is trying to go back and stop what happened in the past - because he has found out what Wells did and that the world is not the way it was meant to be. Don't let the number of pages scare - most chapters are short and it does get your attention so you don't want to put it down.
