In order to put the past behind her, Aviva reinvents herself: she changes her name, relocates to a different part of the country, and discovers her talent as an event planner. The story is told from different characters' perspectives, which gives an insight into Aviva that the reader might not otherwise obtain. Highly recommended!

Annie Harlow appears to have it all: she's a producer of popular cooking television show, and her "hunky" husband, Martin,  is the star chef of the show. Life is good, until an unfortunate accident sends Annie into a coma, turning her life upside down. She eventually returns to her old family home in Switchback, Vermont, to recuperate, and where the past catches up with present, and helps to determine her future. It's an enjoyable read with well developed characters, and a happy ending. Recommended!

First Comes Love/Emily Giffin/384 pgs.

Sisters Josie and Meredith are opposite personalities as is often the case with siblings. Now in their late thirties, each has chosen a different path. Josie is single, and is a grade school teacher. Meredith is married, has a young daughter, and is a lawyer. Both are discontented with aspects of their lives. They are rapidly approaching the fifteen year anniversary of a tragedy that tore apart their family. In alternating chapters, Josie and Meredith describe their lives and how they see their relationship with each other. It's a thought provoking novel that gives insight into family dynamics--especially families who have suffered a tragedy, and the guilt that tragedy evokes. Recommended!
