better days.  Drugs, overdoses, and deaths are nothing                                 
new to the residents of Barronville.  Things change
when FBI agent, Alex Jamison and her partner, Amos
Decker come to visit Jamison's sister.  While in the
backyard, Decker observes something strange in the                                   
house across the yard.  Upon further investigation, he
discovers the bodies of two victims.  He and Jamison
soon realize that they are hitting too close to home in
their investigation when they are nearly killed...more
than once AND Jamison's brother-in-law mysteriously
dies at work.  This is another good Baldacci read.

The Whole Town's Talking/Fannie Flagg/ 402pgs

Fans of Fannie Flagg will love this book.  Lordor Nordstrom came to the
United States and settled the perfect little community, Elmwood Springs, Missouri.  He also set aside the ideal property for the town cemetery on a hill overlooking the little town.  He named it Still Meadows.

As the townspeople begin to "move into" Still Meadows, the fun begins.  The new inhabitants of the cemetery discover that they can talk to long lost friends and relatives.  And nothing happens in Elmwood Springs that isn't talked about by everyone, dead or alive.

See How She Dies/Lisa Jackson/430pgs

What happened to four-year old London Danvers the night of her father's 60th birthday?  Little London disappeared that night and was presumed dead.  Completely broken by the loss of her daughter, Katherine drowns her misery in alcohol and prescription medications and jumps from her balcony to her death.  Or was Kat's death an accident and is it tied to her daughter's mysterious disappearance?

The Story of Arthur Truluv/Elizabeth Berg/222pgs

My book club loved this book.  It is the delightful story of 84-year-old Arthur Moses, a man who deeply loved his late wife.  This sweet man takes the bus to the cemetery every day to eat lunch at her grave.  Everything changes the day he meets poor, troubled Maddy at the cemetery.  Add Arthur's neighbor, Lucille in the mix, this story shows how unlikely friends can become family.

Sometimes I Lie/Alice Feeney/258pgs

Like many other readers who have read this book, I finished reading it with a "What just happened?" feeling.

Until the last thirty pages I was hooked and couldn't wait to finish this intriguing story.  It is about a married woman, Amber, who is in a coma after a horrible accident.  The story takes the reader back and forth in time telling of the difficult times in Amber's life, parents who doted on her younger sister, Claire, losing her grandmother who she believed was the only person who truly loved her, and finding a friend who lived the life Amber wished for herself.   The author builds the mystery by adding a former boyfriend of Amber's who works in the hospital where she lies in the coma.  In her comatose state, Amber believes that this former boyfriend is trying to kill her.  Amber also has a deep animosity towards the woman with whom she works.  As the story goes back in time, Amber was setting events in motion to deal with this coworker.  It is a twisted tale of the way people see themselves and others and the lengths they will go to create the life they desire.
