It might be hard to believe that an author could/would write a romance novel with a school shooting as its background, but Roni Loren was brave enough and I have to say that she handled the story carefully. It's twelve years after the shooting and some of the survivors have returned to the town in order to participate in a documentary. Olivia, now a web designer with a demanding job, wants to get in and get out. She still has nightmares about one of the shooters pointing a gun straight at her. Unfortunately she runs into her high school boyfriend who left her alone that night and was shot but survived. Finn had disappeared after high school and Olivia never saw him again. He's been doing undercover work for the FBI. Though steamy, at its heart this a sweet story that focuses on the reality and relationships of those who survived a horrific event.
