Leroy Brown is a ten year old fifth grader who solves mysteries. This first Encyclopedia Brown book is great. The reader is presented with clues Encyclopedia Brown used to solve each case and given the opportunity to solve the case before the solution and it rationale are given. The Encyclopedia Brown books are quick, fun, entertaining reads that encourage the reader to engage in and strengthen deductive reasoning and interpersonal relations skills.
